This privacy policy aims to give you information on how Party Social collects and processes your personal data through your use of our application, including any data you may provide when you create a profile, publish a card pack, or play games with others.

2. The Data We Collect About You

We only collect the data necessary to provide our services. We do not collect your email address, phone number, or passwords. Authentication is handled securely through Apple's iCloud.

• Identity & Profile Data: Includes your CloudKit user identifier, chosen display name, bio, and profile picture.
• User-Generated Content: Any Card Packs you create and publish to the public database, including pack names, descriptions, images, ratings, and card text.
• Gameplay & Communication Data: Information shared during games such as prompts, answers, votes, and chat messages. Please note that gameplay relies on WebRTC (Peer-to-Peer) technology. Your IP address may be exposed to other players in your game session, and gameplay data is transmitted between players and our signaling server.
• Blocked Users: Data stored locally on your device regarding users you have chosen to block.

3. How We Collect Your Data

• Direct interactions: Data you provide when setting up your profile or publishing Card Packs to the public CloudKit database.
• Authentication: We use Apple's CloudKit. Your identity is managed by Apple, and we only receive an anonymized identifier and the profile information you choose to provide.
• Gameplay: Data transmitted through our WebRTC signaling server when you join a lobby or participate in a game.

4. How We Use Your Data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data to:

• Provide and maintain the game features (e.g., matching you with players, sending your profile info to peers).
• Store and distribute the Card Packs you choose to publish publicly via CloudKit.
• Facilitate peer-to-peer gameplay and chat via our signaling server.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your profile and published Card Packs are securely stored using Apple's CloudKit public databases. By using Party Social, you are also subject to Apple's privacy policy regarding iCloud data.

While we implement measures to protect your data, please be aware that peer-to-peer (WebRTC) gameplay involves direct connections between devices, meaning your IP address may be visible to other players in your session.

6. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services, such as GIPHY, to provide certain features (like searching for GIFs). When you use these features, your search queries may be sent to these third-party providers. We do not share your identity data with them.

7. Data Retention

Your public CloudKit data (like Profile Data and Card Packs) is retained as long as your account is active or until you delete the data through the app. Local data, such as your block list, remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its data.
